Ezekiel porridge – protein and minerals

The biblical prophet Ezekiel was commanded by God to eat only a bread made from six grains for just over a year: lentils, millet, beans, wheat, barley and spelt. Since he was to subsist on this alone for several months, one can assume that this specific blend contains virtually everything the body needs. If you buy a "multi-mineral complex" supplement, 90 capsules it costs between 12 and 30 dollars — and for that price, you get only those 90 capsules. I don’t know exactly how much 90 capsules weigh—perhaps 100 grams? Yet, if you buy the grains for Ezekiel’s bread or porridge, you get 3.6 kg of a "multi-mineral complex"—packed with minerals and vitamins—for 17 dollars. That is a huge difference in price. Remember to thank the God of Israel for all the wonderful, healthy food He has created. Thank God for your food when you eat lunch, dinner, and so on.

God commanded the prophet Ezekiel to lie still for two periods: first for 390 days, and then for 40 days. Consequently, he didn't need much energy, as he was mostly lying motionless. If you want to try Ezekiel bread or porridge, perhaps you shouldn't make it your sole source of nutrition; instead, view it as a solid foundation to build upon by adding other foods. If you cook a large batch, you can freeze portions in small bags, then take one out and microwave it or heat in a sauce pan.
You can make Ezekiel porridge in two ways: sweet like a dessert, or more savory with spices. For the sweet version, you can add butter—quite a lot of it—along with cinnamon and a sweetener like honey, erythritol, or stevia. For the savory version, season it with black pepper, white pepper, and salt instead. Add garlic butter, oven-roasted onions, and feta cheese. Yum!

I don't take any supplements or medications
Since June 15 2026, I don't take any supplements or medication. Why spend money on such things when you feel healthy? I try to get all the nutrition I need from my diet and then place my trust in God's grace. I do have a supplement containing ashwagandha and saffron that I take if I can't fall asleep, but I very rarely need to use it. The capsule sits on my nightstand—and has been there for quite a while. If I catch a cold, I take medication, and if I were to become seriously ill, I would take medication; but as things stand right now, I am medication-free.
I consume quite a lot of smoothies, fruit, eggs, fish roe spread, potatoes, rye bread, liver pâté, kefir, milk, cream, yogurt, coffee, tea, and dark chocolate — but occasionally ribeye steak as well.

It also says the bread should contain spelt. I didn't include it in my porridge; I'm not really familiar with spelt.

Soak beans for 10–12 hours before cooking them to neutralize lectins, which can otherwise cause diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain.
Beans and lentils in cartons or cans (packed in liquid) do not need to be soaked.
Skim off the foam when boiling beans. Change the water after 15 minutes to make the beans less gas-producing.
